Freedom – Enjoy Your Life

freedomSuccess comes in many forms and money is only one way of measuring it. Perhaps we should consider how much freedom we have rather than focusing exclusively on money. If you are free to enjoy your life, free to appreciate the great things that you already have, free to enjoy the love of friends and family, this is truly wealth beyond measure. Have you sacrificed your freedom and self-expression for an illusory notion of success? Take a moment to consider your freedom and how to create more space in your life to enjoy it. This creates a very stable platform for developing better ways of living and helps to incorporate change in a comfortable way that conforms to who we are and to what we desire.

Day 73

image (35)Our lives are often dominated by the needs of work, family, children and a host of competing responsibilities. That’s why I’m asking you to find some time just for you. It isn’t selfish and it doesn’t detract from your other duties but it will help to restore some much-needed balance to your life. Set aside some time for yourself every single day. Use it for whatever you want. Meditate. Dream. Think about your goals. Think about your own needs and welfare.

Make this an important part of your daily routine.

Set aside time to make plans for yourself. Focus on you and use your special time to consider how to improve your well-being. Let the seeds of creativity germinate in your imagination and help you fulfill your individual needs, opening up greater possibilities for self-expression and personal fulfillment. As you take care of others and your daily responsibilities, take time to care of you as well.

Day 163

One of the greatest challenges in our lives is to recognise the limitations imposed by our upbringing. Too often I meet exceptional people who are caged and restricted by their backgrounds, by the rules laid down by their families, by the conditions of their culture and the expectations of the people around them. Life is too short to be lived in the chains of our conditioning. We spend too much of our lives playing the roles laid down by our cultural surroundings. It might not be comfortable to break free of our bonds. It might feel very strange to step beyond the limits of our conditioning. But it seems tragic to spend the gift of our lives in bondage to values and restrictions that have little to do with our deepest potential for happiness, fulfilment and self-expression. These natural, liberating forces that exist within each of us seek positive outlets, harming none, in a quest to bring us closer to who we really are.
