Day 137

Do you have a plan for your life? Do you know where you want to be next year or in five years’ time? One of the most effective ways to engage with the future of our dreams is to make a detailed plan of exactly how you want to be, where you want to see yourself living and what you’ll be doing every day. Then you take a day to live the dream as if it’s really happening, dressing, behaving, speaking, using theatrical props if necessary, doing everything you can to create the impression of realism. When we engage in this activity, something radical seems to happen in the way our brains function. We seem to be able to re-programme our expectations at a deep level so that the brain begins to scan for ways to make the dream a reality. There are many examples of people finding extraordinary success in their lives by using this technique to kick-start their ambitions. Even inexperienced authors have found success as published writers, many have found the best expression of their latent talents and the list of possibilities is seemingly endless. Listen to your heart. Make a detailed plan for your future and live a day or night as if it’s already happened. The results will most likely amaze you.

Day 155

Do you dream? Do you remember your dreams? There’s evidence that everyone dreams but we’re not always aware of the experience. However, as I’ve mentioned before, dreams can provide powerful insights into the state of our life and give very precise clues into our current state of development and, perhaps, where we need to focus our conscious attention. The content of our dreams is often purely symbolic. Literal interpretations are rarely reliable. We need to write down our dreams as soon as we wake, enlisting the co-operation of our subconscious to hold and recall the images and feelings. The detail can provide a rich source of material and, once we learn to de-code the symbolism, we can have access to an extraordinary range of profound observations, answers to problems and questions, insights into our nature. All from the simple experience of our dreams. Start tonight. Tell yourself that you’ll remember your dreams when you wake and have a pen and paper handy to jot down whatever you can recall. Welcome to the wonderful world of your own subconscious.
