Sometimes we seem to be so completely preoccupied with our senses, thoughts and feelings that we fail to recognise how anyone else is feeling. This is not healthy because it encourages a sense of separation from others that distorts our connection to the people around us. Breathing more slowly and a little more deeply, we can relax and learn to focus on how people express themselves, how they feel, how they perceive the world. This is the foundation of communication and in understanding others we may begin to understand more about ourselves.
